The Inn on Fifth Serves as a Luxurious and Relaxing Home Base to Explore Naples, Florida
Weather reports from home were not spectacular. Rain, snow, and cloud-covered skies had put a damper on many of our friends, who longed for sunshine.
But tucked in at the Inn on Fifth, a luxury boutique hotel on tony Fifth Avenue South in Naples, Florida, we didn’t give it a second thought. We had everything we needed – a beautiful space, excellent food, tropical flowers, a large heated swimming pool, and a concierge to guide us through the area. With just five days to find our inner glow, the Inn on Fifth – plus oodles of art galleries, restaurants, and boutique shops – delivered.

The journey to warm relaxation and quiet adventure started with our entrance to the Inn on Fifth after a day of travel. The only hotel located on Fifth Avenue South, the inn feels cloistered and elegant, with marbleized floors and walls filled with original art. A large winding staircase to two upper floors, including the Inn on Fifth Spa, added to the charm.
The hotel is divided into two separate structures, across the street from each other. Both exteriors exude a quiet elegance. In one building are rooms designed in the traditional arrangement of sleeping and sitting quarters and a bath. On the other side is the Club Level, which gives guests a variety of perks: a more spacious suite, a complimentary sumptuous breakfast, and a friendly in-house concierge, in a central location, who serves for the entire day and into the evening. All guests have access to a beautiful heated pool, spa, and gym, which are located across the street from the Club Level suites. All guests also have access to free valet service within one mile, a perk that we used for several quick trips.

Fifth Avenue South is the heart of downtown Naples, a small and very walkable city that draws many high-profile travelers and residents. Walking west, the boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries give way to a neighborhood of classic, spacious stucco houses, mostly in Mediterranean or Neo-Mediterranean style. With wrought iron touches, earth-tone color palettes, barrel-tiled roofs, and lavish gardens, they are testaments to the quiet luxury of the area. The street and the neighborhood culminate in a charming beach.
Many visitors come here for the shopping, but there are scheduled annual events that also are a draw, including the annual Cars on Fifth event, which features exotic and classic cards (many of which are flown in by private charter) and the Naples Winter Wine Festival, both fundraisers. Touring Naples Harbor by boat is a blast, and Naples Princess Cruises offers a menu of choices. For those who prefer a quiet getaway, consider walking the length of Fifth Avenue South and popping into the many art galleries and shops, as we did.

Your opportunity to chill and revive is mere minutes away. A day spent at the Inn on Fifth Spa and a visit to the heated pool can serve your serenity better than you can imagine. We had a divine couples massage in one of the spa’s quiet candlelit rooms.
The biggest takeaway? Sometimes a vacation is about the simplest things becoming extraordinary experiences – all of it just a short plane ride away.
